Day 7

Thurs + Friday

December 9+10

Travel

We have the morning and the early afternoon free before parade rehearsal time at 4:00pm.  Choose an activity that won't take so much out of you that you don't have anything left for the parade. Perfect day to lay out at the beach, enjoy the pool, or do some shopping on Kalakaua.

Lots of standing in the pre-parade ceremony.  EV ERYONE should have eaten and needs a bottle of water for this event. Don't let the heat get you ! Shorts and Hawaiin shirt is a GREAT decision for this event !!!

4:oopm   Parade rehearsal at Fort DeRussey.

5:00pm   Parade opening ceremonies with surviving Pearl Harbor Veterans

There will be at least one MASS BAND piece.

6:00pm   Parade begins down Kalakaua heading back toward our hotel.

Parade does a lot of starting and stopping as groups stop to perform.

Bands march straight thru.  Judges near the Outrigger Hotel.

The street is lined like Charlotte; four lanes.

Parade is the length of Charlotte and Valdese; about 10 blocks)

7:30pm  Awards ceremony, meal,  and concert in the Kapiolani Park

following the parade.  (Salad, BBQ, potatoes, corn, drinks)
